Programmers are kindly invited to participate in the development of the Solarcoin project. If you know how Blockchain works and know the Bitcoin core technology, our project is for you. You need to upgrade the Solarcoin from Bitcoin Core v 0.04 to Bitcoin Core v.0.14.1. This project is very important not only to us, but to the entire world as well. As a participant of the project, you get not only a considerable cash prize, but you help promote alternative energy sources as well. Do not miss your chance to join our community and make this world a better place.

What is Solarcoin?

SolarCoin is an alternative digital currency that works like air-miles for Solar electricity generation.
For more information on Solarcoin refer to https://solarcoin.org
And watch the video here.

What needs to be done ?

Solarcoin wallet has at its core Bitcoin's Bitcore technology. The current version of Solarcoin found here uses version .04 of Bitcore. It needs to be updated to Bitcore version 0.14.1

Development requirements

Solarcoin is a standard clone coin with the following unique aspects:

1. Ability to add a 523 character message to each TX transaction. This capability is inherited from Florincoin.
2. POST consensus algorithm. The POST algorithm is inherited from Vericoin. White paper here.

Please include the bitpay features for copay.io support as well, the various indices (address, spent, unspent) and the new rpc calls - https://github.com/bitpay/bitcoin/tree/0.13-bitcore

Outcome

Please post your outcome on the open repository at https://github.com/.

Ideally updated compiled versions of the Linux, MacOS and Windows QT wallets would delivered as well.  Ideally they would also be developer signed.

Prizes to go

The best solution will get the prize of 10,000 SLR (approximately $ 1,900) . The rest of the contributing members will share 15,000 SLR (approximately $ 2850), with the sum of one prize not exceeding 5,000 SLR (approximately $ 950). The amount of each award will be calculated individually, based on the quality of the work provided.

If you have any questions, do not hesitate to ask them in the project comments.

A few disclaimers:

There is no guarantee of winning a prize. The prizes are only awarded to entries that the Lykke judges find worthwhile. Prizes are awarded in Solar coins, which may be redeemed for currency and sent to your bank. You must be at least 18 years of age. You must not submit twice — your first submission is the one that counts. You will be responsible for declaring your own income to your local tax authorities. All submissions will be disclosed to the public. The prizes are given at Lykke’s sole discretion. The decisions of the judges will be final — there is no appeals process if your project does not win a prize. No other compensation will be given at this stage.

Please note the SolarCoin foundation is also offering SLR 20,000 added to the 1st prize winner to deliver a solution that is compiled and functional.

Any reason why the development team behind SolarCoin can't handle this? I love that this is a project and there's a prize and all, but find it confusing that it's not being handled by SolarCoin's own team.

Thanks!
