The work was enjoyable because I was really interested in stepping into this new blockchain based financial world
I first signed up to Lykke about one year ago as this was the first trading platform to offer Solarcoin.
A few months later, a colleague recommended that I take a look at the lykke ICO platform as we were considering launching a token of our own.
It was at that time that I stumbled upon the streams platform. I am interested in blockchain technology but i’m not a blockchain developer. After some investigation, I found a project which looked interesting for me to participate in.
The first time I participated in a project, It was relatively simple and didn’t require too much time at all. I did not win the first prize for this one but still received a small participation award.
It was the third Streams project I entered that got me into the prizes.
The challenge was basically to re-design the entire Streams experience and besides a cash prize, there was also the possibility of being selected as a project manager to manage the development of the platform.
I put extra time into this project as I really wanted the position as project manager with Lykke, I must have spent about 40 hours on preparing for the project not for the cash prize but mainly because I wanted to secure the position.
The work was enjoyable because I was really interested in stepping into this new blockchain based financial world.
After I found out about winning the prize, the process of receiving the money into my wallet was very simple and handled professionally. I was required to sign for the money and shortly afterward, I received the money in my wallet.
Last week I was considering the possibilities, once again, about launching a token to raise funds for our Swiss startup specializing in using promoting the use of natural building materials namely HEMP, I was happy to see that the platform still exists and am formulating the correct proposal.
Overall, Lykke Streams is a great idea to crowdsource tasks and it pays really well for participants
In December 2016 I got to know about Lykke from a friend of mine that is actively involved with Crypto Currencies & Exchanges. This was right at the beginning before the prices explode and Ethereum was still trading relatively cheap. I was buying mining power of Ethereum as I believe the project will have a big impact and that it will take off in the next couple of years. But I didn’t know where to store them except for the private wallet, but thought that there must be Decentral Exchanges that offer higher security. My colleague then mentioned Lykke just started its operations and Swiss based and has a great Management Team.
I directly investigated what Lykke is doing and saw that they offer Crowdsourced projects via their Lykke Streams. Personally I loved the idea of crowdsourcing work and then selecting result that you like best. With that in mind, I opened an account and played around with the App to understand its functions and how Lykke does Business. I thought that the project is great and has lots of potential because Lykke Streams will attract talent that want to drive the company further and that it will reach its vision. Therefore I didn’t thought much about it and registered on Lykke Streams for “Set up a new Lykke venture in your city”.
As it was Christmas vacation time, I started to work on it from the 27th of December onwards and submitted my work on the 2nd of January 2017. It took me about 12h of work, mostly research and analysis. I didn’t even thought I’m going to win but was using the time over Christmas to do some productive work – instead of eating cookies - that could be used potentially by Lykke in the future. It was a really interesting task and I was very much motivated because I saw that 50 other participants were working on it. Once submitted, it got evaluated and results were in as described on time. I saw that I won and received an Email from Finance that wished me congratulations and that should provide my Lykke Account Details. As I did already have an account, I answered the same day and received the money within the same week. It was extremely fast and I was amazed by how professionally Lykke worked.
Overall, Lykke Streams is a great idea to crowdsource tasks and it pays really well for participants. It is just not as easy to find lately and would require more marketing to reach more people. Just the project alone has the potential for Lykke to attract more talent, deliver more work and do good for people that participate.
LYKKE wants to make great things happen and they believe that great things can be achieved through collaboration, which is why they have created a platform for the LYKKE community to do just that. LYKKE STREAMS is where projects are posted for members of the LYKKE community to participate in for the chance to win a prize.
Each projects is different and requires a varying set of skills, from programming to media and communications. The last time I looked, I saw a prize of $4000 for a project on STREAMS. Go and have a look for yourself.
I participated in multiple design projects. I am not a professional designer but do it as a hobby. Lykke streams has very interesting projects and awards the best submissions with prize money. The projects usually run long enough, so that one has enough time to work on it, even besides a full-time job. Larger projects with higher prize money may take some more time to do, but if you end up in the top 4, the prize money is a fair reward for your work. You can be very creative with your work because there are almost no limitations. The process to obtain the prize works seamlessly and within 30 days I received the funds in my Lykke Wallet.
Working on the project was fun!
I was in the crypto scene in 2013, but had to sell my mining rig and cash out most of my coins due to personal reasons then, and for one reason or another, I didn't look at crypto again till early this year. One of the things I first did when I came back was to find out which coins/tokens have strong fundamentals, and that was when I first heard about Lykke. I literally went through everything on Lykke's website in a couple of days, including the then Lykke University. Of course, Lykke Streams was one of them, and I really liked the idea.
Before I found out about Lykke, I was also looking for a way to purchase Bitcoin and Ether locally. Previously (back in 2013), I would literally transfer money to someone's bank account, and they would then send me BTC in return. I was exploring if there were easier ways to do it, and Lykke was one of them. By the time I decided to take part in this particular Lykke Streams project (How to purchase Bitcoin with Lykke), I had already bought bitcoins a number of times from Lykke, so it was really just putting my actions into words. It took me about 2 days to think about how to get started.
Working on the project was fun! I figured that even if I didn't win anything, I could probably share the guide with my friends and community members who may be interested in buying Bitcoin or Ether.
The hardest part was the portion on purchasing Bitcoin with Lykke via SWIFT transfer, as I have never actually done it (I always use the credit card option to earn credit card points and miles, haha).
I got the award into me wallet in a short time (~2 weeks )!
I want to join more Streams projects, if it is relevant and I believe that I can contribute to it. I love the vision Lykke has!
One of my personally favorite features of Lykke is the Lykke Streams. Lykke streams is an ingenious way to connect likeminded people and form a community. It is a way to outsource some of the work of Lykke to the community for monetary benefits and possibility of employment. In other words imagine Lykke gives you and others homework and the best answer gets a reward. Like this Lykke can draw talent from all around the world and make Lykke a part of everyone.
